Collection: TE WIKI O TE REO MĀORI 2024

To Celebrate Te Wiki O Te Reo Māori 2024, Josh has crafted this mixed media Open Fine Art print as a tribute to and a call to action for the preservation and promotion of Aotearoa NZ’ First language.

He offers a choice to support the kaupapa of uplifting tangata Māori and their businesses by purchasing his mahi whilst promoting the use of te reo Māori, as well as the option to download a free digital print for a limited time only, ensuring everyone can celebrate our language. With this however, he does not grant permission for the commercial distribution of his artwork in any form, only for personal usage.

Inspired by the vibrant hues of contemporary art, Josh's creation aims to inspire individuals of all backgrounds to embrace Te Reo Māori with confidence and pride, fostering a culture of daily usage and appreciation for this integral part of our countries heritage, and future.

“I wanted to create a poppy, contemporary art piece to encourage everyone in giving Te Reo Māori a go, to not be whakamā, but to be proud in protecting a sacred language by using it daily and using it beyond a one week of the year celebration”.

Furthermore, this artwork serves as a powerful statement against those who seek to undermine our native language and cultural identity, standing as a symbol of resistance and resilience.
