Collection: MATARIKI 2024

I wanted to create inspiring Matariki pieces, ones that encourage contemplation of the past present and future (the main themes of Matariki). There are so many beautiful artworks that come from this time of year, but I felt many evoke a sense of intimidation or are seen as imposing figures, or even demonising the atua and whetū. I wanted to show the beauty of this time of year. To say goodbye, to accept and relish the time now, and celebrate what’s to come in the future. For me personally, I started my reo journey this year, it was also my first time experiencing Matariki, hautapu, and local events. This inspired me to create and be more present.

All art reproductions for both Giclee fine art print and stretched canvas are limited to 25 per size and are printed using the highest quality archival paper and ink, so that these taonga last the test of time.
